For authors

Turn your novel into an audiobook. No studio required.

Traditional narration means hiring a narrator, booking studio hours, and waiting weeks for proofs. Upload your manuscript instead: VoiceYourNovel finds your characters, casts a voice for each, and lets you direct the result.

Character detection, voice casting, and chapter rendering are all in the studio. Export chapter MP3s as a ZIP, or one M4B with chapter markers for audiobook apps.

How it works

Three steps from manuscript to full-cast audio

  1. Upload your manuscript

TXT, EPUB, DOCX, or PDF. Chapters and scene boundaries are detected so the audiobook follows the shape of the book you wrote.

  2. Meet your cast

Your characters are detected from the dialogue itself — names, aliases, ages, and roles — and each one gets an identity-matched voice suggestion.

  3. Direct and preview

Audition alternates, tune the casting, and preview chapters in the browser. Re-render as often as you like until it sounds right.

What traditional narration costs

A professionally narrated audiobook is typically billed per finished hour, and a full-length novel runs many finished hours — before studio time, editing, and proofing. A multi-narrator or full-cast production multiplies all of that, which is why most independently published novels never get an audiobook at all.

Here, the cast is generated from your manuscript and revisions are cheap: change a voice, re-render a chapter, and listen again the same day. The economics of iteration finally match the way authors actually work.

You stay the director

Nobody knows how your characters sound better than you do. The suggested casting is a starting point, matched to each character's age, role, and temperament — audition alternates and swap voices until each one fits the person you wrote.

Your narrator stays consistent across the whole book, and character voices persist between sessions, so chapter twenty sounds like chapter one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any audio production experience?
No. There is no recording, editing, or mastering on your side — you upload the manuscript, review the cast, and listen. Directing is done with a few clicks, not a mixing desk.
Who owns the finished audio?
Your manuscript remains yours, and the audio produced from it is yours to use. Nothing you upload is shared or used to train voices.
Can I fix a chapter after hearing it?
Yes. Swap a voice or adjust the cast and re-render just that chapter — you never have to redo the whole book to change one performance.
Which manuscript formats can I upload?
TXT, EPUB, and DOCX give the cleanest results because they carry real text and structure. Digital PDFs work with best-effort extraction; scanned PDFs should be converted to a text format first.
Can I export the audiobook?
Cast detection, voice casting, and chapter rendering all happen in the studio. Finished chapters export as audio files in a ZIP.

Your novel deserves to be heard

Upload the manuscript you already have and hear your own characters speak — then keep directing until every chapter sounds like the book in your head.
